Baseball Recap: Potlatch Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Potlatch). They blew past the Nezperce Nighthawks 17-2 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Loggers in their matchups with the Nighthawks: they've now won nine in a row.

William Yearout was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Logan Carpenter also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Potlatch's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Nezperce, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Potlatch beat the Nighthawks by a score of 13-3 later that day.
