South Haven Christian has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Pleasant View Christian Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully South Haven Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Friday.
South Haven Christian suffered their biggest defeat since December 4, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Horizon Christian Academy, falling 58-26. South Haven Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-10.
Aliya Gagliano put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 38.5% of South Haven Christian's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Meanwhile, Pleasant View Christian's three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They put the hurt on Hendersonville Christian Academy with a sharp 50-28 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Pleasant View Christian has posted since November 10, 2023.
Pleasant View Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gwen Carr led the charge by scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Sosh, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
South Haven Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Pleasant View Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: South Haven Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 34.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Pleasant View Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 16.6 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
