Softball Recap: Stayton's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Stayton extended their winning streak to seven on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 14-6 in the process. Everything went their way against the Philomath Warriors as they made off with a 14-1 win. Considering the Eagles have won 12 contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

As for Philomath, they now have a losing record of 9-10. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with Stayton: they've now lost eight in a row.

For Philomath's part, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Martin, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stayton will challenge North Marion at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Philomath, they will be playing at home against Cascade at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 13 runs per game this season.
