Baseball Game Preview: Bisbee Pumas vs. Hayden Lobos

Bisbee is on a ten-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Hayden is on a seven-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Bisbee Pumas will welcome the Hayden Lobos at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Bisbee 2.5, Hayden 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Bisbee's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Valley Union 10-0. Considering the Pumas have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Bryceton Meyer was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Jaxxon Alvarez was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Bisbee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in eight consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Hayden posted their closest victory since April 27, 2024 on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Williams 4-3.

Bisbee is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. Hayden's win bumped their record up to 7-1.

Bisbee suffered a grim 16-8 defeat to Hayden when the teams last played back in April of 2021. Can Bisbee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
