Basketball Recap: St. Georges Tech Falls Short of Dover in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact St. Georges Tech can now relate to. They received a blow on Friday as they fell 71-57 to the Dover Senators. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hawks of the 67-49 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why St. Georges Tech lost, don't look at Joshua Obiora. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 12 points and 17 rebounds. Obiora is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 53% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jayden Reid, who posted five points along with six boards and four blocks.

The loss snapped St. Georges Tech's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 17-7 record. As for Dover, the win was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-2.

St. Georges Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dover, they have already played their next match, a 37-34 defeat against Sanford on the 9th.
