Recap: Pinnacle Panthers vs. Wayne Badgers
The Pinnacle Panthers struggled with assists on Friday (the Wayne Badgers had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Pinnacle was dealt a 54-27 loss at the hands of Wayne. Pinnacle has not had much luck with Wayne recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Pinnacle lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jostyn McLean. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 11 points and 17 rebounds. McLean scored a full 40.7% of Pinnacle's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Wayne found their leader in underclassman AJ Vandyke, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. The game was Vandyke's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Savannah Williams, who scored six points along with three steals.
Pinnacle has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Wayne, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Pinnacle and Merit Preparatory Academy will face off at 10:00 a.m. on December 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Merit Preparatory Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Wayne won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Tabiona at 11:30 a.m. on December 16th. Tabiona is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
