Volleyball Recap: Aragon Comes Up Short

Aragon lost against Menlo-Atherton back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Dons took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bears.

While Aragon ultimately came up short, they really made Menlo-Atherton work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 28-26, 20-25, 25-20.

Tadem Szeto paced Aragon's offense, picking up 15 kills. Szeto got some help from Santiago Smirnoff and his 23 assists. Smirnoff was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Aragon's loss dropped their record down to 15-17. As for Menlo-Atherton, they pushed their record up to 26-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Aragon will head out to square off against Lynbrook at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Dons are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a five-game losing streak. Menlo-Atherton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
