Recap: Union City vs. St. Peter's Prep
The St. Peter's Prep Marauders won their last contest against the Union City Soaring Eagles, and it was the same story this time around. St. Peter's Prep blew past Union City 68-47 on Tuesday. The margin was wide but not a surprise since the Marauders are ranked far ahead of Union City in the MaxPreps rankings.
St. Peter's Prep's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 47 points in the first half. Union City countered with 25 points, leaving the score at 47-25 going into the half. Although St. Peter's Prep wound up losing the second-half battle, they still had enough in reserve to win the war.
The win was the eighth in a row for St. Peter's Prep and raised their record to 18-2. The loss dropped the Soaring Eagles' record to 12-9.
The Marauders will take on Bayonne on Thursday. St. Peter's Prep won't have the home-court advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings. Union City is staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Kearny. Kearny is hoping for a better outcome this game after an 84-50 defeat to North Bergen.
