Basketball Game Preview: Fairfield Lions vs. Hillsboro Indians

The Fairfield Lions will face off against the Hillsboro Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Fairfield is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Western just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 68-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (56), the Lions still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Hillsboro had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 70-20 victory over the Warriors. With the Indians ahead 48-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Hillsboro's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Fairfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Fairfield was able to grind out a solid victory over Hillsboro in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 53-40. Will Fairfield repeat their success, or does Hillsboro have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
