Basketball Recap: Churchill Bulldogs vs. Whitman Vikings

Churchill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 72-56 bruising from the Whitman Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-43 two weeks ago.

Sean Curran was the offensive standout of the contest as he went 8 of 10 to rack up 19 points. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 46.7% field goal percentage. Max Williams was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to six assists and five rebounds.

Churchill's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Whitman, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Churchill will host Bethesda-Chevy Chase at 5:30 p.m. on February 14th. As for Whitman, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Walter Johnson at 5:30 p.m.
