Baseball Recap: Sunnyslope Takes a Loss

Sunnyslope fell victim to Lake Havasu and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Lake Havasu Knights by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Vikings have suffered since April 22, 2024.

Sunnyslope got a good showing from Aaron Breit, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Breit has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sunnyslope saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Workman, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Sunnyslope's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Lake Havasu, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Coming up, Sunnyslope will welcome Castle View at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Havasu, they will head out on the road to face off against Santa Fe South at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Lake Havasu is facing Santa Fe South at the right time seeing as Santa Fe South is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
