Football Recap: Hopkins Hilltoppers vs. Rye Country Day Wildcats

Hopkins was the 22-9 winner over Rye Country Day when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Hopkins Hilltoppers fell 22-15 to the Rye Country Day Wildcats on Friday.

Rye Country Day's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amir Hogans, who rushed for 55 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 52 receiving yards. Hogans also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making six total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defending a pass. Chris Emmet was another key back, rushing for 95 yards on only seven carries.

Hopkins now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Rye Country Day, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-5.

As of now, neither Hopkins nor Rye Country Day have any future games scheduled.
