            Carterville hasn't had much luck against Marion recently, but that could start to change  on Wednesday. The Lions will venture away from home to  challenge the Wildcats  at 5:00  p.m. Carterville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.9  goals per game  this season.
On Tuesday, Carterville and Harrisburg finished up their  game with  a  3-3 draw.
The Lions hit the Bulldogs with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from  Alea Ruiz,  Kylie Quint,  and  Lyla Seaman.
 Meanwhile, Marion entered their tilt with Carbondale on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Terriers 7-1. Marion might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by three  goals or more this season.
 Marion pushed their record up to 9-1 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  at home. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  scored 26  goals over those four  matchups. With that  draw, Carterville's record moves to 10-2-2.
 Carterville suffered a grim  3-0 defeat to Marion  when the teams last played  back in April of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
