Softball Game Preview: West Memphis Blue Devils vs. Palestine-Wheatley Patriots

West Memphis hasn't had much luck against Palestine-Wheatley recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The West Memphis Blue Devils will welcome the Palestine-Wheatley Patriots at 3:30 p.m. West Memphis has given up an average of 26.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

West Memphis is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against Armorel, falling 22-2.

Margo Killingsworth made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Emma Emberton, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Palestine-Wheatley sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over Cross County on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

West Memphis' loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Palestine-Wheatley, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
