Softball Recap: Boylan Catholic Takes a Loss

Boylan Catholic fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Jefferson on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the J-Hawks by a score of 6-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Titans in their meetings with the J-Hawks: they've now lost four in a row.

Ari Ousley spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits.

At the plate, Maddy Kiley was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Dez Moore was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Boylan Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Jefferson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boylan Catholic will welcome Guilford at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Titans are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Jefferson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hononegah at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the J-Hawks surely won't give up without a fight.
