Baseball Game Preview: Hoopeston Cornjerkers vs. Beecher Bobcats

The Hoopeston Cornjerkers will face off against the Beecher Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hoopeston has given up an average of 6.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hoopeston's last matchup with Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Monday. The Cornjerkers lost 15-7 to the Blue Devils. The Cornjerkers haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Zach Huchel made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Cole Miller was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Beecher was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Peotone.

Hoopeston's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Beecher, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-14.
