Recap: Pen Argyl Green Knights vs. Bangor Slaters

The Pen Argyl Green Knights fell victim to the Bangor Slaters''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a hard 14-0 fall against the Slaters. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pen Argyl in their matchups with Bangor: they've now lost three in a row.

Brad Rissmiller threw for 148 yards on 17 of 33 attempts. Damian Tyminski was his top target, picking up 56 receiving yards.

Bangor's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Greg Campbell, who threw for 173 yards and two touchdowns. Mj Siu did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 81 receiving yards and a touchdown.

The team's defense also helped out by holding Pen Argyl to a paltry 183 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Bangor's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out five times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Jacob Weaver and his three sacks.

Pen Argyl's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Bangor, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

Pen Argyl will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Mahanoy Area at 3:00 p.m. Mahanoy Area is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Bangor, they will head out on the road to face off against Allentown Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Allentown Central Catholic presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bangor in Pennsylvania (Allentown Central Catholic is ranked 19th, while Bangor is ranked 184th).
