Preview: South Warren Spartans vs. Logan County Cougars
The South Warren Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Logan County Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, South Warren got themselves on the board against Ohio County, but Ohio County never followed suit. They breezed by the Eagles on the road to the tune of 41-0. Given South Warren's advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky football rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Ohio County is ranked 186th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Bryce Button, who threw for 138 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Logan County blew past Warren East, posting a 49-21 victory at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Logan County.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 7-2.
South Warren came up short against Logan County when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 27-17. Can South Warren avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
