Basketball Recap: Armijo Comes Up Short

Armijo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 71-27 defeat at the hands of the Burbank Titans. The match marked the Royals' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Armijo lost, don't look at Isreal Legree. Despite the final result, he posted 13 points. That was a full 48.1% of Armijo's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jariah Johnson, who had six points.

It was another big night for Cedric Sydnor, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds for Burbank. Sydnor has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was DJ Massey, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 13 points in addition to six boards and six steals.

Armijo's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Burbank, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Armijo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 69-39 defeat against Fairfield on the 10th. As for Burbank, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 101-28 win against Johnson on the 10th.
