Recap: Vega Longhorns vs. Farwell Steers
The Vega Longhorns lost against the Farwell Steers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Vega was outmatched by Farwell on the road and fell 78-23. Vega has struggled against Farwell recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Farwell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Landri Richey led the charge by scoring 18 points along with five assists and four blocks. Richey has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Chloee Whitten, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Vega's loss dropped their record down to 14-19. As for Farwell, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 29-3.
Vega will square off against Sudan at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Sudan has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 522 points over their last seven games. Farwell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
