Softball Game Preview: Mary Star of the Sea Stars vs. Ramona Convent Tigers

For the second straight game, Mary Star of the Sea will face off against Ramona Convent. The Stars will be playing at home against the Tigers at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Mary Star of the Sea is on a five-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Ramona Convent a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck.

Mary Star of the Sea lost 14-2 to Ramona Convent on Thursday.

For Ramona Convent's part, Madison Garcia made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Garcia was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Delicia Murillo was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Aiden Velazquez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Ramona Convent kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are 8-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Ramona Convent has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Mary Star of the Sea, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
