The Alexander Central Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the West Rowan Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Alexander Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Alexander Central and North Davidson, and Alexander Central kept the tradition alive. Alexander Central came out on top against North Davidson by a score of 7-2 on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Alexander Central got a great performance from Carter Bowman as he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). Bowman has become a key player for Alexander Central: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 1-2 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Koa Mikeal, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those RBI marked the first that he brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddix Reese, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, West Rowan had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Spiders with a sharp 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won four contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Brant Graham spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Cole Blevins was a standout: he scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Brice Knox was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3.
West Rowan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Concord only posted a batting average of .250.
West Rowan pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Alexander Central, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Alexander Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .346. However, it's not like West Rowan struggles in that department as they've averaged .342. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Alexander Central beat West Rowan 3-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alexander Central since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
