After losing to Taos the last time they met, Moriarty decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Pintos put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 19-1 victory on Saturday. Considering the Pintos have won 11 games by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Isabella Gallegos made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Gallegos was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

In other batting news, Moriarty got a massive performance out of Emma Rodriguez, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most runs Rodriguez has posted since back in March. Sienna Rios was another key player, going 1-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Moriarty always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Moriarty's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Taos, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Moriarty beat the Tigers by a score of 10-0 later that day.
