Basketball Game Preview: St. Francis Spartans vs. Providence Catholic Celtics

The St. Francis Spartans will venture away from home to face off against the Providence Catholic Celtics at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Providence Catholic took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on St. Francis, who comes in off a win.

St. Francis is headed into the game having just posted their biggest win since November 29, 2024 on Wednesday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 53-25 victory over St. Rita.

Meanwhile, Providence Catholic lost to Saint Ignatius College Prep at home by a 75-58 margin on Monday. The Celtics have struggled against the Wolfpack recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Providence Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for St. Francis, their win bumped their record up to 9-13.

St. Francis strolled past Providence Catholic in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a score of 54-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Francis since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
