Baseball Game Preview: Serrano Diamondbacks vs. Burroughs Burros

Serrano and Burroughs are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2022, but likely not for long. The Diamondbacks will head out on the road to take on the Burros at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Burroughs took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Serrano, who comes in off a win.

Serrano took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Oak Hills, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Diamondbacks narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Bulldogs 6-5. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Diamondbacks as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Jacob Bannon, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Logan Wanco, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Serrano was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Burroughs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 6-0 to Apple Valley.

Burroughs' loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Serrano, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-14.

Serrano might still be hurting after the 18-0 defeat they got from Burroughs in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Diamondbacks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
