Basketball Recap: Somers Comes Up Short

Somers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Walter Panas Panthers, falling 61-36. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-30 two weeks ago.

Walter Panas' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Katie Hofmann, who went 5-for-8 en route to 15 points. What's more, Hofmann also posted a 63% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2024. Cadence Nicholas was another key player, going 7-for-16 on her way to 18 points along with six boards and three steals.

Somers' loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Walter Panas, they pushed their record up to 19-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

As of now, neither Somers nor Walter Panas have any future games scheduled.
