Recap: Ocala Christian Crusaders vs. Citrus Hurricanes

The Ocala Christian Crusaders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They came out on top against Citrus by a score of 64-54. That's another feather in the cap for Ocala Christian, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Ocala Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Charlotte Culver led the charge by scoring 26 points along with two steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Culver has scored at least a third of Ocala Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Ray, who scored 14 points.

When it comes to explaining why Citrus lost, one person who can't be blamed is Demi Williamson. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Williamson pulled down eight or more rebounds. Kendyl Hunnicutt was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

Even though they lost, Citrus smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Ocala Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Citrus, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ocala Christian will take on Bronson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bronson is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Citrus, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hernando at 6:30 p.m.
