Basketball Recap: Lee County Trojans vs. Coffee Trojans

Lee County has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost 53-33 to the Coffee Trojans on Saturday. The matchup was a close 17-15 at the break, but unfortunately for Lee County it sure didn't stay that way.

Despite the loss, Lee County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Taliyah Porter dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds. Porter is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 20 games she's played. Karrington Flowers was another key player, putting up two points.

Even though they lost, Lee County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in seven consecutive contests.

Coffee got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lexie Bradford out in front who posted 12 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Paris Riley, who scored ten points and four steals.

Lee County's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Coffee, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-1.
