Basketball Recap: Maize South Comes Up Short

Maize South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-53 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hutchinson Salthawks. The Mavericks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Salthawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Maize South's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Hutchinson, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Maize South will take on Bishop Carroll at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hutchinson, they will face off against South on Friday.
