Basketball Recap: Rocky Mount Prep's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Rocky Mount Prep lost against Warren County back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Rocky Mount Prep Jaguars lost to the Warren County Eagles at home by a 67-48 margin.

Despite the defeat, Rocky Mount Prep saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jada Silver posted 17 points and five boards. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for Silver. Another player making a difference was Jakayla Ricks, who put up five points.

Even though they lost, Rocky Mount Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 11 consecutive matchups.

Warren County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Iyauna Harley, who earned 25 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. The game was Harley's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Harris, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 19 boards.

Rocky Mount Prep's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-12. As for Warren County, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Rocky Mount Prep will square off against KIPP P at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rocky Mount Prep is facing KIPP P at the right time seeing as KIPP P is stuck on a 16-game losing streak. As for Warren County, they will challenge Wilson Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
