With a playoff win on the line, Amherst Central rose to the challenge on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Dunkirk Marauders an 18-0 shutout. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The victory got Amherst Central back to even at 7-7. As for Dunkirk, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 19-4 record.

Looking ahead, Amherst Central will face off against Mendon at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. Dunkirk does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
