Softball Recap: King Takes a Loss

King was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 19-0 to the Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 11-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

King's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Looking ahead, King will head out to face off against Incarnate Word Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Incarnate Word Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season. As for Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Corpus Christi Moody at 10:00 a.m. Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 10 runs per game.
