Softball Recap: May River Sharks vs. Hartsville Red Foxes
Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, May River couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hartsville Red Foxes on Monday. The Sharks haven't had much luck with the Red Foxes recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
May River saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mckayla Landry, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
May River's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Hartsville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season.
May River does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hartsville, they are taking a road trip to face off against South Florence at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Red Foxes 3.6, the Bruins 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
