Basketball Recap: Zack White's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ridge Community over Lakeland

Ridge Community was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. The match between them and the Lakeland Dreadnaughts didn't end well, with the Ridge Community Bolts falling 60-46. The Bolts were not able to make up for their defeat to the Dreadnaughts from their previous meeting back in January of 2023.

Ridge Community's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zack White, who posted ten points. Tarique Kennedy was another key player, putting up eight points and seven boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lakeland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyson Mcelhaney, who went 9 for 15 on his way to 22 points. Those 22 points gave Mcelhaney a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alshawn Hagan, who went 5 of 7 en route to 11 points and three steals.

Ridge Community's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Lakeland, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.

Ridge Community didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-50 loss against Wekiva on the 30th. As for Lakeland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 82-67 defeat against Tampa Catholic on the 29th.
