Baseball Recap: Gunnison Comes Up Short

Gunnison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Valley Vista Monsoon.

Grady Buckhanan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Cesar Marmolejo, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

Gunnison now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Valley Vista, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-4.

Gunnison didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-3 win against Steamboat Springs on the 28th. As for Valley Vista, they have also already played their next game, a 6-1 defeat against Westwood on the 24th.
