If Grainger was feeling good fresh off their 10-3 takedown of Morristown-Hamblen East on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Grainger Grizzlies took a 13-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Rebels on Saturday. Even though they lost, the Grizzlies' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.4 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Josh Walker and Ashton Taylor did some serious damage despite the final result: Walker scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Taylor scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Taylor has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kade Lucas, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Even though they lost, Grainger always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Grainger's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for West, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.

Coming up, Grainger will square off against Greeneville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Grainger is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season. As for West, they will challenge Morristown-Hamblen East at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. West also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 8.8 runs per game.
