Softball Recap: Apex Cougars vs. Green Level Gators        
        
		
            
 Apex stacked  a  fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They put the hurt on the Green Level Gators with a sharp  22-3 victory. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for Apex.
  Alyssa Kaufman looked comfortable as she  struck out eight batters over  four innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   three  hits.
 At the plate, Apex got a  massive  performance out of  Leah Kendall, who  scored four  runs and  stole three bases while going 3-for-3. Kendall has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last five times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Lauren McMahon, who  went 4-for-4 with two  triples, three  runs,  and three  RBI.
 On Green Level's side,  Ashley Abramson was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 1-for-2 with a  triple and a  run.
 Apex has  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six games,  which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record  this season. As for Green Level, they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-12.
 Apex will look to defend their home field  on Monday against Cary at 6:00  p.m. Cary is coming into the  match with six straight  defeats on the road,  meaning Apex will have to defend against a  squad hungry for a  win. As for Green Level, they will  take on Panther Creek at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Panther Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8.4  runs per game  this season.
