Basketball Recap: Mandan Falls Short Against Ranked Minot

On Saturday, Mandan faced Minot in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Mandan Braves fell 76-67 to the Minot Magicians. The Braves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Magicians earlier this season, when they won 76-63.

Mandan's loss dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Minot, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-12 record this season.

Mandan will take on St. Mary's Central at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Mandan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 26 contests -- so hopefully St. Mary's Central likes a good challenge. As for Minot, they will square off against Legacy at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Minot's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 18 games.
