The Schurr Spartans will face off against the Montebello Oilers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Schurr will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Schurr is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Mark Keppel on Friday as Schurr made off with a 17-11 win. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.
Logan Trevino made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 5-for-6. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Liam Lu, who went 5-for-6 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Joseph Hernandez, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-5.
Schurr always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Montebello waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Lancers by a score of 6-3.
Isaac Solorzano spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 13 Ks.
On the hitting side, Montebello let Fernando Cruz and Devin Lopez run wild. Cruz went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Lopez scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Cruz is becoming a predictor of Montebello's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 1-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Roberto Barraza, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Montebello now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Schurr, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Schurr hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315. However, it's not like Montebello struggles in that department as they've averaged .409. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
