Basketball Game Preview: Westfield Shamrocks vs. Pendleton Heights Arabians

The Westfield Shamrocks will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Pendleton Heights Arabians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Westfield is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Indianapolis Scecina Memorial. The Shamrocks came out on top against the Crusaders by a score of 63-52 on Tuesday.

Westfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Wyatt Freehauf, who went 5-for-7 en route to 13 points. The dominant performance also gave Freehauf a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (67%). Another player making a difference was Luke Vandegriff, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 boards.

Meanwhile, Pendleton Heights hadn't done well against Wapahani recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Arabians blew past the Raiders 68-46. The Arabians not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since February 6th (when they won 66-42).

Westfield better keep an eye on Cooper Sims. He was instrumental in Pendleton Heights' win, shooting 63% from the field on his way to 23 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Sims' afternoon made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Clark Emly, who posted nine points.

Westfield strolled past Pendleton Heights in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 55-37. Do the Shamrocks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Arabians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
