Basketball Game Preview: Clinton Dark Horses vs. West Bladen Knights

Clinton is 8-2 against West Bladen since December of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Clinton Dark Horses will welcome the West Bladen Knights at 6:00 p.m. Clinton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season.

Clinton is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Fairmont on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Clinton was dealt a 62-25 defeat at the hands of Fairmont. The Dark Horses haven't had much luck with the Golden Tornadoes recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Despite the loss, Clinton had strong showings from Janiya Mosley, who posted five points and three steals, and Ciara Stuart, who earned five points and six steals. Stuart is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for West Bladen, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Red Springs on Friday, sneaking past 40-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted against the Red Devils since January 27, 2022.

Clinton's defeat dropped their record down to 15-9. As for West Bladen, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-15.

Everything came up roses for Clinton against West Bladen in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as the team secured a 63-28 win. Does Clinton have another victory up their sleeve, or will West Bladen turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
