Soccer Game Preview: Keystone vs. Brookville

The Keystone Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Brookville Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Keystone is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to six goals last Thursday, they were much more limited against Central Clarion [Clarion/Clarion-Limestone/North Clarion] on Wednesday. They lost 4-1 to Central Clarion [Clarion/Clarion-Limestone/North Clarion]. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Keystone were already down 4-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Dylan Phieff, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Brookville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 5-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Clarion. While losing is never fun, Brookville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 409th, while North Clarion are ranked 168th).

Brookville's loss dropped their record down to 3-9-1. As for Keystone, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8-1.

Keystone came up short against Brookville in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
