Football Recap: Notre Dame Skates Past Beaver River with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Notre Dame). They blew past the Beaver River Beavers, posting a 44-12 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Jugglers.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to D'Marco Santiago and Jonathan Jackson. Santiago rushed for 142 yards and four scores on only nine carries while Jackson rushed for 147 yards on only ten carries. With that strong performance, Santiago is now averaging an impressive 106.8 rushing yards per game.

Notre Dame was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 332 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 278 rushing yards in three consecutive games.

Notre Dame's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-3. As for Beaver River, they dropped their record down to 2-3 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Notre Dame will head out to challenge Cato-Meridian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils' defense has only allowed 5.2 points per game this season, so the Jugglers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Beaver River, they will face off against Mt. Markham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
