Basketball Recap: George Ranch Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

It's playoff time, and George Ranch had no trouble coming through when it counted. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 62-59 victory over the Katy Tigers on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Longhorns sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

George Ranch's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cayden Munnilal, who went 10-for-16 to rack up 23 points. Munnilal's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Gabriel Mahonwu was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and ten boards.

George Ranch pushed their record up to 22-12 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for Katy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 28-7 record.

George Ranch has already played their next contest, a 48-45 win against Stratford on the 21st. Katy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
