Basketball Recap: Monte Vista Christian Comes Up Short

If Monte Vista Christian was riding high fresh off their 71-29 takedown of Seaside last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Monte Vista Christian Mustangs took a 64-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stevenson Pirates. The Mustangs have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stevenson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kekoa Williams, who posted ten points and seven boards. What's more, Williams also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alex Rushing, who had ten points and three steals.

Monte Vista Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Stevenson, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Monte Vista Christian beat Stevenson by a score of 54-52 on Monday.
