Basketball Recap: Lima Christian Takes a Loss

Lima Christian played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 77-36 defeat at the hands of the Finney Falcons. The Saints were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-18.

Despite the loss, Lima Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alyssa Marsh posted 18 points and six boards. Marsh's evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Swan, who earned four points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Lima Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Lima Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Finney, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Lima Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 49-25 win against Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter on the 10th. As for Finney, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Harley Allendale Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd.
