Basketball Recap: Eastern Wayne Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Taleia Claude and Tamiya Boone

Eastern Wayne lost against North Johnston last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eastern Wayne Warriors fell to the North Johnston Panthers 46-41. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly five points.

Tamiya Boone and Taleia Claude certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Boone almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds, while Claude posted 14 points and three steals. Boone has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

North Johnston got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Samantha Boswell out in front who went 5-for-8 to rack up 11 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was McKenna Moncrief, who scored eight points and eight rebounds.

Eastern Wayne is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13. As for North Johnston, their record is now 18-1.

Coincidentally, Eastern Wayne and North Johnston will both be playing Goldsboro the next time they take the court. North Johnston will host Goldsboro at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Eastern Wayne will head out to face them at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
