Barrington waltzed into their match on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Palatine Pirates. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in April.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Barrington who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 17-25, 25-20.

Barrington's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-4. As for Palatine, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-14 record.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Barrington will face off against rival Fremd at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Palatine is set to take on their familiar foe Conant at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
