Mariner is 9-1 against Cape Coral since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Tritons will look to defend their home field against the Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. Cape Coral took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Mariner, who comes in off a win.
Mariner had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Gateway on Wednesday. The Tritons blew past the Eagles 14-3.

Caleb Kiraly looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.
On the hitting side, Morgan Waltz was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Pablo Hernandez, who scored two runs while going 4-for-4.
Mariner hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gateway struck out six times.
Meanwhile, Cape Coral was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 16-5 to North Fort Myers.
Julious Sinboualay and Derek Hooker did some serious damage despite the final result: Sinboualay went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run, while Hooker scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Hooker has become a key player for Cape Coral: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-15 otherwise.
Cape Coral's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Mariner, their victory bumped their record up to 16-9.
Cape Coral's pitching crew better be locked in on Monday. Mariner hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. It's a different story for Cape Coral, though, as they've been averaging only 0 home runs. Will they be able to keep Mariner in the park?
Mariner took their win against Cape Coral when the teams last played last Wednesday by a conclusive 14-4 score. Will the Tritons repeat their success, or do the Seahawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
