Softball Recap: D'iberville Wins Going Away Against West Harrison

D'Iberville got themselves on the board against West Harrison on Thursday, but West Harrison never followed suit. They were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over the West Harrison Hurricanes. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hurricanes, too.

Emma Franklin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Franklin was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, D'Iberville let Annah Niceley and Kinney Jurich run wild. Niceley went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double, while Jurich scored two runs while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Jurich a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Addison Mosley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

D'Iberville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Harrison only posted a batting average of .167.

The victory made it two in a row for D'Iberville and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.5 runs. As for West Harrison, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, D'Iberville will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Bay at 6:30 p.m. on February 20th. As for West Harrison, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-4 win against Vancleave on the 17th.
